Sejarah Tabuik Pariaman

Menurut sejarah , tabuik berasal dari orang india yang bergabung dalam pasukan "islam thamil" di Bengkulu (1826) dibawah kedaulatan "Thomas Stanmford Rafles" (inggris). setelah perjanjian London (17 maret 1829). Bengkulu dikuasai Belanda dan Inggris menguasai Singapura, hal itu menyebabkan pasukan islam thamil Bengkulu akhirnya menyebar, diantaranya ada yang sampai ke Pariaman.

Di Pariaman tradisi merayakan tabuik tetap mereka adakan dengan mengelar ritual-ritual kisah kematian tragis Hasan dan Hosein (cucu nabi Muhammad SAW) dalam perang Karbala. maka sejak saat itu pilalah perayaan tabuik mulai membudya dan terus digelar hingga menjadi budaya masyarakat pariaman.

Adapun sakral pada prosesi tabuik pada hakekatnya adalah memperingati Hasan dan Hosein yang mati mengenaskan atas kekejaman raja Zalim. Alkisah diriwayatkan bahwa atas kebesaran Allah SWT,secara tiba-tiba jezanah Hosein diangkat ke langit menggunakan "Bouraq" sejenis hewan berbadan seperti kuda dan berkepala seperti manusia serta mempunyai syap yang lebar dengan mengusung peti (jenazah) dipundaknya berhias payung mahkota warna-warni. Itulah yang dinamakan dengan "tabuik". selanjutnya perkembangan ritual pesta budaya tabuik Piaman dalam beberapa dekade lebih ditujukan bagi penunjang prosfek kepariwisataan.

Cultural Ceremony of the Death Day In Indonesia

             Among the javanese,funeral involve several activities called selamatan. The first selamatan is held on the day a member of  family dies, which is called geblag. The next slamatan is held on third day, called nelung dina, onthe seventh day called mitung dina, on the fortieth day called matang puluh dina,  on the hundredth day , called nyatus, and the thousandth day called nyewu, which is the greatest of all selamtan ceremonies. The javanese believe that after thousandth day, the spirit of the dead person is already at peace in the "other' world.

                 The Toraja people of South Sulawesi have a unique way of burying the dead. They believe that if somebody dies, they enter puya. puya is place for the dead. they also believe that how dead people go to puya must show his or her social status when he or she was alive. That is why; the funeral ceremony for a person who had a high position in the community may look like a big party or even a carnival outsiders. In tana toraja , a dead person only accepted as dead when the complete funeral has been held for him. before that , the corpse is considered to be a "sick" body and is kept in traditional house called tongkonan. this sick body is dressed and offered  food.

                   The Balinese of trunyan have a different funeral. after a morning ceremony, the dead body is put under a tree. It is not buried or burned. it is not even covered with cloth or eaves. It is amazing , although it does rot, does not smell. The place where the dead is put is near a village not far from lake kintamani.

Widow and The Stepdaughter

                  A widow loved her own ugly and unpleasant daughter just as much as she disliked her lovely , kind stepdaughter. she made the stepdaughter do all the handest work in the house , and the girl obeyed her without complaint.

                    One day , the stepmother sent her out to the well to get water, and there she meet an old woman who asked her for a drink. The kind young girl served the old woman as if she were a queen. In truth , that old woman was fairy in disguise , and she was so moved by the young girl's kindness that she rewarded her with an extraordinary gift, every time she spoke , from her lips, along with the words, fell flowers and diamonds.

                   The stepmother was furious when she heardwhat had happened to her stepdaughter. immediately she sent her own daughter to the well , so that she could come back with the same gift. This time , the fairy appeared in the form of a queen. But when she asked for a drink , the young woman said rudely, "if you wnat drink get it your self."

   "you are most unkind ," said the fairy , " and for that will give you a very different reward."

                   And thereafter , whenever the unkind girl began to speak , her rude words could actually be seen in the snakes and toads that fell from her lips.

African Bees

          In 1956 a Brazillian scientist imported some special bees Brazil from Africa. the Africa bees were same size a ordinary bees. But they were much stronger and more dagerous. A sting from one of these bees can kill a man or even a buffalo very quickly. The scientist imported the because he wanted to breed anew type of the bees using the African bees and ordinary European bees, He want to combine the strength of African with the safety of the European bees. Unfortunately in 1957 ,26 queen bees escaped and began to breed in the jungles of Brazil. 

           They spread very quickly and since that time they have been moving slowly northwards,covering 300 to 400 kilometers year, over 200 people have died after being stung by the killer bees, and thousand of animals have also died. Buy march 1978 the killer bees reached Venezuelan and in 1980 they arrived in Panama. If they continued to move at the same speed they would reach the USA in 1988.

             Today scientist from amny different countries are trying to find ways of the kille bees, but if they cannot be stopped , the Americans like the brazilians, will have to learn how to live with new dangerous visitors.

Shepherd Boy

         There was one a young shepherd boy who tended his sheep at foot of the mountain near dark forest. It was rather lonely for him all day, so he though upon a plan by which he could gets a little company and some axcitement he rushed down toward the villages calling out "wolf" wolf, and villagers came out to meet him and some of them stopped with him considerable time. 

          This pleased the boy so much that a few days afterwards he tried some trick. And again the villagers came to his help. But shortly after this a wolf actually did a come out from the forest. And began the sheep, and the of course cried out "wolf,wolf"still louder than before. But this time the village who had been fooled twice before, though the boy was again deceiving them , and no body strirred to come to his help. So the wolf made a good meal of the boy's flock.

Cloning Of Animals : Allowed Or Not Allowed

             In this era, technology has developed to such us a certain degree that scientists are able to create new forms of life. One of them is cloning. The debate whether cloning of animals should be allowed or not seems endless.

            Those who agree with cloning of animals ussually argue that the cells produced from them can be used stop animals from becoming extinct. They also add that cloning has a purpose to produce high quality of cells.

           Many species are becoming rarer and rarer. Scientists are concerned if they don't do something to save certain species, these animals will be extinct forever and this would be a big loss for animals kingdom. For this reason, researchers have improved cloning technology so that many rare species can be successfully cloned.

            However, not everyone to excited about cloning animals. Some people feel that it could have terrible consequences.

            For example, if dinosaurs are cloned, then men can be extinct. It is clear that these ferocious beasts cannot live together with human. In history ,these creatures lived several thousand years before men appeared. Can you imagine these giant killing creatures living within the same era and on the same planet with us ?

             As a ressult of this controversy, people still haven't got the answer yet for cloning animals. Moreover , some members of the scientists cimmunity think that the banning of cloning technology will destroy the creativity of science.

Pampas Grass

       Pampas grass is a large perennial grass native to Brazil, Argentina and Chile. it grow in large clumbs eight to ten feet high. Silky, silver -white or punkish plumes bloom in late summer, rissing 12 feet high.

       Pampas grass displays many ornamental forms. some forms have rose or purple flowers . some forms are smaller plants that grow only four to five feet tall. the variety cortaderia selloana pumula is a drawf form with very narrow grass - like leaves. this variety is becoming more widespread among gardeners.

      The plumes differ between female and male plants, although it's not always obvious on first glance. Female plants produces plumes that are broad full due to silky hair that cover the tiny flowers. Male plumes appear narrow and thin because the flower doesn't contain the hairs. There is also considerable variotion among seedlings in growth with habit, period of flowering and size and shape of plumes.

      Pampas grass can be very attractive and functional plant when used corectly in landscape design, it can be used as a specimen plant in isolated location or large lawns.Because it grows very rapidly into a massive plant, it make an excellent screening plant for sunny location.

SUPERNOVA

            A Supernova occur when all of the hydrogen in the core of a huge star in transformed to iron and the explodes. All star die after the nuclear fuel has been exhauted. star with the little massa die gradually, but those with relatively large mass die in a sudden explosion , a supernova. the sudden flash of light can then be followed by several weeks of extremely bright light as twenty million stars.

             Supernova are not very common; they occur about once every hundred years in any galaxy, and in 1987 a supernova that could be seen by the naked eye occured in the magellan cloud, a galaxy close to the milky way.

           Scientists periodically detect supernova in other galaxies; however , no supernova have occured in the milky way(the galaxy that include earth) since 1604. One very impessive supernova occured in milky way on july 4,1054. There was great explosion followed by three month  of lighted skies, and historical chronicles of the time ware full accounts and unusual explanations for the misunderstood phenomenon- many people believed that it meant that the world was coming to an end.
